Where We’re Headed

The South Shore of Prince Edward County spans roughly 26 km “as the crow flies,” but the vision for the Footpath includes loops, spurs, and alternate routes that could eventually double that length — creating a system of trails that showcase natural beauty, cultural heritage, and rich biodiversity.

Right now, work is focused on publicly owned conservation lands and properties managed by environmental land trusts. Volunteers are mapping routes and assessing conditions — all with the long-term goal of creating a safe, accessible, and environmentally responsible trail system.

This is a multi-year, multi-phase effort that will take time, collaboration, and care.
