Where Gull Pond

Sunday April 2

9 am

Meet at the corner of Charwell Point  and Army Reserve Rds.

parking available on a flat area off the road

Join us to walk to Gull Pond. Charwell Point Rd. makes a sharp right hand turn near the lake leading to the berm that encloses Gull Pond. The "pond" was an original fishing area for indigenous people and early settlers. It is created by a somewhat ephemeral gravel berm and protected by a long point of land going into the Lake.

Paul Jones has been monitoring avian migration through the area for the last few years. His work has revealed a previously unknown riches of shorebird migration through the area both in spring and fall. It will be early in the season; however, we will try to see and hear birds on our stroll and at the shore.

A Stroll donation of $10 per person to help with SSJI's advocacy expenses will be gratefully received.

This is a longish walk so please be prepared with water and a snack. Water proof footwear is recommended.

Will you come?
