South Shore Nature Lover’s Stroll

When: June 13, 2026 at 09:30 AM
Length: 2 kms, 2 hrs
Where: Departs from Mariner’s Museum

Enjoy a calm, unhurried walk near the South Shore, designed for those who love to slow down and truly connect with nature. This easy walk, through meadow and down to the shore, offers the chance to explore local plants, observe birdlife, and take in the small details that are often missed at a faster pace.

Led by a knowledgeable naturalist, the walk will include stops to learn about the surrounding ecosystem, seasonal changes, and the species that call this shoreline home. A nature photographer will also be on hand to share practical tips on composition, lighting, and camera settings—perfect for anyone looking to improve their skills or simply capture the beauty around them.

This experience is ideal for curious minds, casual walkers, and anyone who enjoys pausing often to observe, learn, and photograph the natural world. Consider downloading Merlin Bird ID and iNaturalist applications so you can identify and record your findings in the interest of citizen science!

A portion of the drive to the property will be down a seasonal road.

Please be aware that ticks may be present along the trail. We recommend long pants, socks and proper footwear, and insect repellent, along with a thorough tick check afterward.

This walk is by donation (pay what you can), with all contributions helping us care for the South Shore footpath.
