Sindhu Karpakal: My work is an exploration of the intimate relationship we share with the natural world. As a self-taught artist, I am fundamentally inspired by the inherent beauty of nature and driven by a deep desire to capture the subtle, often overlooked, moments of connection and vitality that surround us. I seek to translate the landscape around me, not merely as a representation, but as a vibrant experience, highlighting its quiet strength and gentle rhythms.

Through my practice, I employ vibrant colors and meticulous, detailed forms to evoke specific emotional responses in the viewer—namely, a sense of peace, joy, and a renewed connection to the living world. My approach involves building up layers of color and texture, transforming organic shapes and environmental elements into visual symphonies that are both a reflection of the external environment and an internal emotional landscape. I find immense satisfaction in recording these glimpses of beauty, aiming to inspire a sense of wonder and mindfulness in those who view my work. Each piece I create is an invitation to pause, appreciate, and immerse oneself in the restorative beauty of our shared environment."

Warli Art is an ancient Indian art form from Maharashtra’s Warli tribe. Although there are no records of exact origin of this art form, it has been traced back to as early as 10th century AD.  This art form resembles prehistoric cave paintings and their origins have been dated back to 2500-3000 BCE with simple geometric shapes of circle, triangle, square and based on concept of Mother Nature and elements of Nature. People and animals are represented by two inverse triangles joined at their tips meant to symbolize the balance of the universe.
Mithila Art also known as Madhubani Art originated in Mithila Region (India & Nepal) and can be traced back to pre-1960s. This art form was discovered by British Officer William G Archer. Mithila paintings mainly depicted people and their association with nature and that of deities from ancient epics. Mithila art has five (5) distinctive styles namely: Bharni, Katchni, Tantrik, Godna and Kohbar.
Rogan Art / Painting is art form dating back to 5th or 6th century, according to UNESCO research. This art form originally arrived from Persia to India.
