M.T. Rivers: I received formal training in a 2-year (20 month) Fine Arts course at St. Lawrence College, Kingston, graduating with Distinction in 1990. I work in a variety of mediums: oils, pencil, sculpture, wood-work along with many others.
I have spent the years after graduating producing pet and human portraits for clients, designing tattoos as well as participating in inspirational projects for fund-raising, participating in competitions as well as exhibiting in a variety of cities.
I have been lucky enough to teach both adults and children at the Lynwood Art Gallery in Simcoe, Ontario as well as grades 4, 5, & 6 at Settlers Green School in Mississauga, Ontario and instructed a grade 7 class with a sculptural project.
This coming year I will be focusing on producing a new body of work with plans to exhibit, while following up on commissions coming in from clients. I am constantly inspired by the world around me and concentrate on producing work that has emotional impact.
