Join South Shore Joint Initiative and The Department of Illumination for an enchanting day dedicated to Monarch butterflies!
📅 When: Saturday, July 26 11:30 AM – 6:30 PM
📍 Where: Delhi Park, Picton
🍽 Picnic: 4:30 – 6:30 PM (featuring DJ Sonja Scharf; BYO blankets & snacks)
Bring the whole family to learn about Monarchs, make some crafts, and enjoy engaging activities for kids! SSJI volunteers and outdoor educator Cheryl Chapman will be there to share their passion and knowledge about these incredible pollinators.
Take part in the following activities:
- Join a guided caterpillar safari
- Take a selfie with beautiful butterfly wings
- Test you butterfly knowledge on our Monarch Scavenger Hunt
- Explore the specimens table
- Discover more about Monarchs while creating something lovely to take home We have butterfly arts and craft for all ages and abilities
- Make a lifecycle bracelets
- Needle felt a butterfly
- Create a yarn wrapped caterpillar
- Prepare milkweed seed bombs
- Learn to draw a Monarch Butterfly
- And more
Enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the park while learn about the Monarch Butterfly and its amazing migration.
