South Shore Stroll

Saturday March 5 (bad weather date Sunday March 6)

Prince Edward Point

Meet at the PEP Harbour parking lot

9 am

This late winter stroll will give us an opportunity to see the remaining arctic ducks in our South Shore waters.  Long-tailed Ducks, Greater Scaup and White-winged Scoters will still be around.  We will walk from the harbour to the Lighthouse and review the history of the area so eloquently described by Marc Seguin in his book “For Want of a Lighthouse”.  The Harbour is traditionally the home of a long-standing fishery and the net drying racks and former fishers’ cottages still exist.

At the lighthouse we will review possible uses for this unique building.  This is an opportunity for those interested in South Shore cultural history to get involved in telling its stories.

Sorry, this event is fully booked.
