Surprise operations donation delights South Shore Joint Initiative
Prince Edward County, ON — December 2, 2026 — South Shore Joint Initiative (SSJI) is deeply grateful to the Bronskill Fund and The County Foundation for a generous grant that will directly support SSJI’s ongoing operations. This vital contribution helps SSJI “keep the lights on” and continue its work protecting and celebrating the natural and cultural heritage of Prince Edward County’s rare and fragile South Shore.
“This surprise gift is significant to us,” said Cheryl Anderson, President of SSJI. “Operational funding is often the hardest to secure, yet it is the backbone of everything we do. Thanks to the Bronskill Fund and The County Foundation, we can continue to sustain our programs, support our volunteers, and ensure our community has a strong voice in protecting the South Shore.” Read more...

On December 1, 2025, South Shore Joint Initiative hosted a special webcast led by President Cheryl Anderson. We’re grateful to everyone who joined us live and shared in celebrating the results of our volunteer‑run charity.
Highlights included updates from Cheryl Chapman on education programs, John Hirsch on our new 15‑year lease with the Nature Conservancy of Canada, and Geoff Craig on the South Shore Footpath project.
We look forward to inviting our community of supporters, members and donors to the next webcast in the Spring 2026. Stay tuned for updates in our e-newsletters.
