On April 8, 2024, a total eclipse of the sun will occur in Southern Ontario for the first time in 400 years, and the last time in 375 years.  In preparation for this event, members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) will hold an information session at the Picton Library on Saturday the 2nd of March at 2 pm.

This presentation will describe what will happen, and why this event is so rare.  Safe viewing methods will also be covered so you can be prepared to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime event.  In addition, ISO certified eclipse glasses will also be available to purchase.  Come out and meet with members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) and learn more about the eclipse and your local astronomy club.
