JAN 23, 2026 to Feb 18, 2026 - Square Foot Art Show at Arts on Main Gallery, Picton, ON

We know the South Shore’s rare and remarkable beauty is beloved by artists. From January 23 to February 18, 2026, our first-ever Square Foot Art Show at Arts On Main Gallery will showcase artworks that benefit both the artists and the South Shore Joint Initiative. Hosted in the Backroom Gallery - a vibrant and active part of the Prince Edward County arts community - this much-anticipated fundraiser will celebrate art, community, and conservation.

The Opening Reception will take place on January 24, 2026 -  We invite you to join us for a launch reception. Space is limited, so please RSVP here.

Artists are invited to submit 1 or more artworks to the Square Foot Art Show. Art sales will directly support non-profit South Shore Joint Initiative’s work to protect, preserve and restore PEC’s South Shore.

Important Artist Info

  • Artwork Delivery: January 22, 2026 (12:00 pm to 4:00 pm) at Arts on Main Gallery. Unable to deliver on January 22? Contact Cheryl Anderson at [email protected] to make alternative arrangements.
  • Unsold Artwork Pickup: February 19, 2026 (10:00 am - 12:30 pm).
  • Sales: Artists set their own pricing. Proceeds are shared (40% artist / 60% SSJI) or can be donated to SSJI for a tax receipt. Commissions will be distributed by February 28, 2026.
  • Format: Two-dimensional works in any medium are welcome. Please use a 12”x12” panel or canvas suitable for hanging. Ensure works are labelled and wired with D-rings approximately 4” from the top.
  • Waiver: Please sign and bring the Arts on Main Gallery Waiver to the gallery.
  • Exhibition Space is limited; depending on the quantity of artworks received and sold if you submit more than 2 artworks these may be exhibited in early February

ARTWORK DONATIONS: Are warmly welcomed. If you'd like to donate 100% of proceeds from the sale of your artwork to South Shore Joint Initiative, kindly let Cheryl Anderson know. Artists who donate an artwork that is sold during the exhibition will receive a tax receipt for 100% of the value of the sold artwork.

PROMOTION: Artists will be featured on South Shore Joint Initiative’s website and social media channels as well as Arts on Main’s social media

In addition to the in-person exhibition, SSJI is hosting an online preview gallery at SSJI.ca. To help us promote sales of your artwork(s), please send the following info to Katherine Rogalska at [email protected] as soon as available:

  • A brief bio and/or artistic statement (max 300 words)
  • Links to your social media, website, or artist profiles (If you have a County Arts profile, it has already been added.)
  • 1 or 2 photos of your completed and/or framed artwork(s)

If your Square Foot artwork is in progress, please still send your bio, statement, and links to help with promotion. We’ll add your artwork photos to the Online Gallery as received or on January 22.
