YOU’RE INVITED!

JOIN US FOR the June 2024 9th Annual PEC

BIOBLITZ

Presented by Prince Edward County Field Naturalists
with partners, Quinte Field Naturalists, Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory and South Shore Joint Initiative's Wild Thing program

What is a BioBlitz?  It’s a family friendly event bringing volunteers of all ages to join with scientists and experts to record all the living species in an area.

Where and when?  Join us for all or part of the 24 hour Blitz at the  GREEN POINT ESCARPMENT FORESTS on June 8-9/24 from 12 PM Saturday to 12 PM Sunday near Co. Rd. 35 in the northeast of the County.  Come join us for a couple of hours or for both days!

  • Go on guided walks led by experts
  • Activities for young naturalists on both days
  • See Butterflies up close and Dragonflies too
  • Look for birds and try to find their nests
  • Look for clues to see mammals, insects and amphibians
  • Identify plants you’ve always wondered about
  • Dinner on Saturday evening and Wrap-up BBQ lunch Sunday

It’s fun and exciting!  Learn about biodiversity in the County, help preserve our natural world, and contribute to what we know about this special area!

Registration at the site - $5 (children accompanied by adults – free)

Registration begins at 11 AM Saturday and continues throughout the event
