Myrna Wood, founding member of South Shore Joint Initiative passed on September 26. A trail-blazing second wave feminist, Myrna was one of the founders of Canada’s first Women’s Liberation movement in Toronto and in New York City she helped organize a city-wide Women’s Liberation group.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 3 at Waring Hall, Picton from 4 to 7 pm. All are welcome to share stories and remembrances.
NEW 2026 Square Foot Art Show at Arts on Main Gallery: Backroom
We know the South Shore’s rare and remarkable beauty is beloved by artists. This is why we’ve created our first-ever Square Foot Art Show opportunity for artists. From January 23 to February 18, 2026, we’ll showcase square foot art with sales proceeds benefiting the artist and South Shore Joint Initiative.
Arts On Main Gallery is a vibrant and active part of the PEC arts community and its Backroom Gallery will be home to our much-anticipated South Shore fundraising event.

Artists are invited to submit up to four artworks to the Square Foot Art Show. Art sales will directly support non-profit South Shore Joint Initiative’s work to protect, preserve and restore PEC’s South Shore.
