Wild Thing: Growing the Next Generation of Land Stewards

Investing in young people is essential to building a strong, resilient Prince Edward County where everyone can thrive. SSJI’s Wild Thing program opens the door for children and youth to explore the outdoors, discover local biodiversity, and engage with Indigenous knowledge in a welcoming, hands‑on learning environment.
Delivered in a supportive and inclusive environment, Wild Thing is designed to complement elementary and secondary curriculum expectations through hands‑on, place‑based learning. This well-recognized by Prince Edward County community program is led by an outdoor educator with more than a decade of professional experience designing and implementing high‑quality outdoor education programs for young people.

If you’d like more information about bringing Wild Thing to your school or group, please reach out to Cheryl Chapman.
If you’d like to support the program and help more young people access outdoor education, please contact Cheryl Anderson.
